EMINE BASCI DEVRES
EMİNE BASCI DEVRES, Partner, is admitted to the Izmir Bar Association in 1988; currently registered under Istanbul Bar Association. She is the graduate of Dokuz Eylül University, School of Law (LL.B., 1986). She worked as an in house lawyer at one of the leading cement company in İzmir, Turkey. Then, she joined a law firm in 1989. In 1994, she became a partner. Between 1997 and 2001 she worked as a managing partner, therein. She continues on her legal practice at her own office “DEVRES LAW OFFICE” in Istanbul.
Her areas of expertise cover international project finance, energy law, company law, privatization law, international loan transactions, foreign investments, competition, telecommunication, banking and finance. She is a patent and trademark attorney and the author of several articles on intellectual property rights. She is also a litigation lawyer, representing her clients at arbitration tribunals and the courts of Turkey.
EMİNE BASCI DEVRES, successfully represented her clients before the Turkish courts and execution offices for the foreclosure of their securities as well as the protection of their trademarks. She also represented her clients at administrative and tax courts. She worked in the enforcement of foreign arbitral awards.
SIMGE AKYUZ HAYBAT
SİMGE AKYÜZ HAYBAT, Senior Associate, is admitted to the Istanbul Bar Association in 2010. She is the graduate of Istanbul University, School of Law (LL.B., 2009). She finished her LL.M studies in the field of international transportation law at the University of Istanbul, School of Law (LL.M, 2012) and defended unanimously approved thesis titled “The Liability of the Carrier for Damages Resulting from Delay in Delivery in the Course of International Carriage of Good by Road and Air”.
She is an associate since 2010 in DEVRES LAW OFFICE with five-year experience as an attorney-at-law (and with a 4 year of past experience as a legal assistance and trainee) in general corporate transactions, mergers and acquisitions, international and cross-border finance & restructuring transactions, foreclosures, infrastructure transactions and contracts. Her practice mainly focuses on commercial law, corporate law, contracts law, project finance, dispute resolution & litigation, execution and bankruptcy proceedings and intellectual property rights, namely in broad range of legal services that DEVRES LAW OFFICE provides to its clients.
